These days it seems like everything—not just toasters and children’s books—is popping up all over the place: retail stores, art galleries, doughnut shops, and, of course, restaurants. While the pop-up concept may be new in experiential marketing, the James Beard Foundation has been producing a pop-up restaurant almost every night for the last 25 years. When we began inviting chefs from across the country and around the world to cook dinners in James Beard’s house starting back in 1986, we had no idea the enthusiasm for and interest in food in America would grow to the point that just the whisper of a famous chef coming to town would generate incredible excitement.

JBF LTD takes the idea of the pop-up restaurant further than it’s ever been taken before. Over the course of five weeks, we’re bringing together incredible chefs, celebrated authors, television personalities, and many other people and partners to create the most exciting pop-up food pavilion and restaurant New York has seen. The setting is a beautiful space in the dynamic Chelsea Market designed by celebrated architect James Biber.

As the name suggests, JBF LTD will be around for a limited time only—27 days of programming, to be exact. Starting April 12 we’ll be counting down those days until May 14 when it’s all over. Gone. Like it never happened. Finito.
